About Slow Living

It’s time to embrace nature’s wisdom, one bloom at a time. Slow Living Co. is a small-scale flower farm rooted in regenerative growing practices, cultivating specialty cut flowers in harmony with the land. Free from pesticides, herbicides, and synthetic fertilizers, every stem is nurtured from seed, thriving in healthy soil and harvested with care to ensure fresh, long-lasting beauty. Whether you’re receiving a CSA bouquet, sourcing sustainable florals for your event, or simply seeking a deeper connection to nature, our blooms are a reminder to slow down, live with intention, and celebrate the ever-changing rhythms of the earth.

Slow Living Co. is more than a farm—it’s a philosophy. To live slowly is to move with purpose, to retreat from the chaos, and to reconnect with the wisdom of the natural world. It’s about recognizing that we, too, are part of this great cycle of life, rooted in the same soil that nourishes the blooms we cherish. Flowers remind us to be present, to embrace the fleeting beauty of each moment, and to trust in the seasons of growth and rest. Welcome to Slow Living Co.—a place where flowers are grown with heart, and life is lived in full bloom.

For years, I searched for my dharma—my true purpose. I longed for clarity, for someone to simply say, “Taylor, this is what you’re meant to do.” But life doesn’t always work that way. Instead, through soul-searching and reflection, I discovered a simple truth: my purpose is to care and connect. Slow Living was born from this realization, with a mission to inspire others to slow down, reconnect with nature, and cultivate a deeper appreciation for the world around them. As Bell Hooks so beautifully said, “When we love the Earth, we are able to love ourselves more fully.” Every flower I grow is a reminder of this connection—a gentle invitation to embrace a slower, more intentional way of living.

The inspiration to grow flowers struck after a summer camping trip to Frankfort, Michigan. While exploring Old Mission Peninsula, we stumbled upon a charming U-Pick Flowers sign and met Virginia, the owner of Old Mission Flowers. As we wandered through her garden, she shared her wisdom—teaching us about different flower varieties and the art of harvesting for maximum vase life. It was the first time I had ever heard of a flower farm, and the idea lit a spark in me. Inspired and excited, I returned home and bought my very first flower seeds—unknowingly planting the first roots of Slow Living Co.

Hi, I’m Taylor!

Growing With Intention

At Slow Living Co., flowers are more than just something to admire. They are ancient storytellers, whispering wisdom through their roots and petals. Grown on a small-scale farm using regenerative practices, our blooms thrive in harmony with the land, not in defiance of it. Nature has no rigid lines, no forced perfection, only a quiet resilience that we honor by growing with intention, curiosity, and deep respect. Here, every stem is nurtured by the rhythms of the earth, free from chemicals and unnecessary interventions, allowing each flower to flourish as it was meant to.

Our approach to farming is about partnership rather than control. The soil, the seasons, and the unseen networks beneath our feet all play a role in cultivating beauty that is both wild and sustainable. True sustainability isn’t about forcing nature to bend to our will—it’s about listening. Growing what thrives naturally in our environment minimizes waste, reduces resource input, and strengthens the resilience of our fields. Even the so-called “pests” and plant diseases have their place, teaching us patience and adaptability. In this way, we don’t just grow flowers—we nurture an ecosystem that is abundant, balanced, and alive.
